On Thursday, the Midland Marketing Board of Directors broke ground on the future expansions at our Toulon and Brownell sites.
"The Board of Directors and Management are excited for the future of our locations," the company said in a news release. "Our producers are continuing to raise tremendous crops in our areas, and that puts a slight strain on our locations and staff to make sure we can store these commodities each year. The board of directors along with the Management team see the need to expand in each of our trade territories to make sure that all our customers have a place to store their crops."
The Toulon location will begin its expansion project in December, with the addition of 950,000-bushel McPherson Concrete bins. There will be a new leg and scale to help with efficiency and flow of traffic for customers. Contractors for the Toulon expansion are McPherson Concrete, HABCO INC. and Hammeke Electric.
Work on the Brownell location also is scheduled to begin in December, with the addition of a 444,000-bushel McPherson Bin. Contractors for the project are McPherson Concrete, Reif Welding and Construction, and Kramer Electric.
Plans are to have both expansions ready for wheat harvest of 2021.
