Another record overnight low set in Hays as an extreme cold temperature warning from the National Weather Service in Dodge City continues until noon today.
According to the K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town, the low dipped to -13 degrees Wednesday night, a new record high. The daytime high for Feb. 19 was 5 degrees.
This is the second consecutive overnight low record for Hays. Tuesday's low was -5 degrees.
A warm-up is in the three-day forecast with temperatures in the upper 40s by Saturday.
