Hays Public Library
Just in time for Summer Reading, the Hays Public Library is excited to announce it will increase access to digital resources as well as increase the number of new and popular physical titles purchased. This increase is made possible with the support of the recently formed Ellis County Public Library.
What this means specifically for digital resources:
- hoopla: On this cost-per-circulation platform, borrows will be increased from 12 checkouts per month to 14 checkouts per month. These are titles that can be immediately borrowed and enjoyed on your phone or digital devices. hoopla is only available for Ellis County residents.
- Libby (aka Sunflower eLibrary): The platform will have an increased number of new and popular "advantage" titles available. This will shorten the wait time for HPL cardholders and provide more reading options.
Enhancing Physical Collections and Outreach:
Additional physical copies of bestsellers, summer reading list titles, and other popular titles will be made available for those who still enjoy the experience of traditional physical books.
Beyond the benefit of the reading materials, the Ellis County Public Library and Hays Public Library are also working to extend outreach services beyond the city limits of Hays and enhance library programming that benefits all Ellis County residents.
This boost in materials comes at the perfect time, as the Summer Reading program officially kicked off on June 1. Registration is open to anyone who wants to sign up and participate. https://hayslibrary.org/summer/
The Hays Public Library is looking forward to future opportunities to enhance library services to Hays and all of Ellis County made possible by this partnership with the Ellis County Public Library.
