The snow began falling late Sunday night in Hays as a Winter Storm Warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Dodge City and is in effect until 6 p.m. Monday.
The forecast calls for four to eight inches of snow today.

With heavy snow still falling at 8 a.m., the K-State Agricultural Research Center reported three inches of snow on the ground, yielding 0.36 inch of moisture. It's the first moisture recorded in Hays in 2021.
The three-day weather forecast calls for a little more snow on Tuesday.
