Left turns at 45th and Vine in Hays are now possible following completion of work by the city's Public Works department in late November.
It's just one of the many projects completed by the city in the last quarter of 2020, according to Collin Bielser, assistant city manager.
He presented the progress report to city commissioners during their last meeting of 2020.
Other completed projects included installation of sanitary sewer and water mains in Tallgrass Second Addition where moderate income housing will be built in a joint project between Grow Hays and Heart of America, bank stabilization of the eroded Montgomery ditch south of 7th Street, and restriping of runway and taxiway markings at the airport.
And, thanks to funds from the federal CARES Act, the city's fiber network has been installed at the airport fire station.
Bielser also updated the progress of the North Vine Street Corridor Improvements.
The first of four traffic roundabouts opened at 32nd and 33rd streets on Dec. 5.
During the winter months, contractor Smoky Hills Construction, Salina, will work off of Vine Street at 37th Street and to connect Skyline and 41st.
