Dr. Wally Walstrom, an orthopedic physician who specializes in sports medicine at the Orthopedic Clinic, recently was selected to be part of the Kansas State High School Activities Association Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.
The committee’s primary role is to advise and work cooperatively with the association’s executive board, staff and legal counsel in matters related to sports medicine and student-athlete safety within the 750 member schools. Additional responsibilities include evaluating and developing potential recommendations, guidelines, policies, services, and educational resources related to medical and student safety matters.
The committee was formed in 2014 and meets twice a year.
