HAYS - The TMP defense held Beloit to their fewest points scored in five weeks and forced them into three turnovers but it wasn’t enough Friday as the Trojans beat the Monarchs 22-0 at Lewis Field in Hays.

Both defenses got off to a strong start with three forced turnovers in three possessions.

On their opening possession Beloit drove inside the TMP 35-yard line only to fumble it away. But TMP turned it right back over five plays later.

On their second possession of the game Beloit drove all the way to the TMP one-yard line before fumbling the ball into the endzone, giving it back to TMP.

The Monarchs were unable to get anything going on offense and after a short punt Beloit put together a nine-play 48-yard touchdown drove capped off by a one-yard Quinn Eilert touchdown run to put Beloit up 8-0.

On the ensuing TMP drive Kade Harris threw his first of two interceptions for TMP.

The turnover set up Beloit with another short field that they were able to turn it into a two-yard Logan Arasmith touchdown run to cap off a six-play 30-yard drive for a 14-0 lead.

The Monarchs were forced to punt on their first two possessions of the second half, down 14-0.  The defensive was able to force back-to-back Beloit turnovers, with a Carson Liles interception and a turnover on downs to start the fourth quarter but TMP could not get their offense going.

They also turnover it over on an interception and a turnover on downs before Beloit added their third and final touchdown of the game, a 20-yard Arasmith run for a 22-0 win.

Beloit’s Logan Arasmith finished with 215 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries.

The Trojans outgained TMP 322 to 68 total yards.

TMP will host Southwest Heights in their week nine season finale Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
