📷 Return visit of UP 4014 Big Boy delights Ellis Co. residents

Once again, hundreds of Ellis County residents came out to greet the Union Pacific Steam engine 4014, known as the Big Boy, in Ellis County Friday.

Crowds visited the heritage train through the afternoon and evening as the train stopped for the night in Hays during the last leg of a tour of the U.S.

After a delayed start on Saturday in Hays, the train would again stop in Ellis to another large crowd, near the Railroad Museum as residents also enjoyed coffee, donuts, hot dogs, and the train museum, with rides on their mini replica of a 1950's GM Aerotrain.

After stopping in Sharon Springs for the evening, the Big Boy is set to leave Kansas Sunday, then wrapping up the tour through Colorado, ultimately stopping in Cheyenne, Wyo. on Sept. 7.
