Lee D. Mapes, daughter of Dale D. and Lois L. (Brooks) Arnold, was born May 22, 1950, in Norton, and passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 8, 2020, at the Andbe Home in Norton.

Lee grew up in Clayton, where she attended the Clayton grade school. She graduated from the Norcatur High School. On July 13, 1969, Lee married the love of her life, John D. Mapes, in Clayton. They made their home in Norton, where they raised their family.

Lee was a member of the Norton First United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and the church treasurer for many years. She had also served as a member of the Norton County Hospital board.

Survivors include: her loving husband, John Mapes, of their home in Norton; one son, Robert J. (Megan) Mapes, III, Norton; two daughters, Jennifer Lynn (Scott) Aust, Norton; Rebecca Ann ( Ryan) Tubman, Cupertino, California; one sister, Lydia Houk, Cave Creek, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Kylee, Taylor, Morgan and Kevin Mapes, Brody, Jayce and MaKenzie Tubman; other relatives and many friends.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Kevin Douglas, and one brother, Clinton R. Arnold.

FUNERAL SERVICE – Monday, July 13, 2020 – 10:30 a.m.

PLACE – First United Methodist Church – Norton, KS

INTERMENT – Norton Cemetery – Norton, KS

VISITATION – Sunday, July 12, 2020 – 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

PLACE – Enfield Funeral Home – 215 W. Main – Norton, KS
