GREAT BEND — The outside-the-box approach to bring workforce back to Great Bend
starts next week in … New Mexico.
In June, Great Bend Economic Development Director Sara Hayden announced her
staff would head to the New Mexico State Fair in Albuquerque to advertise
workforce opportunities in Great Bend.
"If there are employers
that still wish to give us information to advertise their company,
please feel free to give that information to me," said Hayden. "That
might be a one-page flyer about what's special about your company and
why someone would want to come work for you."
The New Mexico State Fair is Sept. 8-18.
Great Bend is teaming up with Liberal and Dodge City to split up the days to
recruit fairgoers to Kansas. The Great Bend Eco Devo staff will be down there
for three days.
"If you're an employer that would like to come
down for one, or all of those days, to better represent your company,
you're welcome to do that," said Hayden. Please get in touch with us
ASAP."
Great Bend targeted New Mexico because the state has a large amount of people
looking for public sector, manufacturing and service positions.
