Darrell Wayne Critchfield, 84, of Plainville, Kansas passed away peacefully Monday, April 28, 2025, at Redbud Nursing Home. He was born February 21, 1941, in Voda, Kansas to Denzel and Leiva (Schierkolk) Critchfield. He graduated from Morland High School in 1960. April 13, 1973, Darrell married Cathey Ellen Davidson from Denver, Colorado. In his spare time Darrell loved to garden, visit , tell jokes, and watch football games on TV.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents Denzel and Leiva; his brothers Darwin and Gerald; his son Dennis; his grandson Josh Critchfield; and his great granddaughter Kayla Soderberg. Survivors include his sons: Doug Critchfield and Dan Critchfield, both of Grand Junction, Colorado, Don Critchfield of Mesa, Arizona, and Lane Victorson of Baltimore, Maryland; his daughter Lana (Don) Barton of Morland, Kansas; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 3 to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 – 7. His funeral will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the First Assembly of God Church, Hill City, with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
