Elnoria V. Allen, 82, died Saturday, August 29, 2021, at Harry Hines
Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. She was born September 3, 1938, in Aubrey,
Arkansas, the daughter of William & Eula (Crockett) Holmes Sr.
Elnoria grew up in Moro, Arkansas, and was one of 5 siblings. On
April 18, 1959, she married Rev. Robert R. Allen in Topeka, Kansas.
They moved to Nicodemus, Kansas in 1967. In 1971, they moved to Garden
City where Elnoria has lived since. While living in Garden City, she
was a Nurse Aide at St. Catherine Hospital for 29 years, until her
retirement in 2003. Elnoria was also known to have a variety of many
roles, Mother, Aunt, Grandma, and even Great Grandma. She enjoyed
Gospel music, traveling, eating out, and watching Family Feud on TV.
Survivors include five daughters Melodie Allen of Garden City,
Kansas, Teresa Allen of Wichita, Kansas, Bobbie Allen of Kansas City,
Missouri, Betty Allen of Garden City, Kansas, and Valerie Allen of
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nine Grandchildren; and ten Great
Grandchildren. Elnoria is preceded in death by her husband Rev. Robert
Allen who died on May 10, 2003. She is also preceded in death by a
Grandson Demetrius Atkins, Jr.; three brothers; and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September
3, 2021 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev. Roger Bradshaw
officiating. A private interment will take place at a later time.
There will be no calling hours.
The family suggests memorials given to the Elnoria Allen Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
