TOPEKA — The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office will be holding informational meetings for members of the fire service, local code officials, elected leaders, industry stakeholders, and the public to learn about the development of the 2026 Kansas Fire Prevention Code. The meetings will include a presentation on the plans to develop the new code, what standards will be included in the new code, and provide an opportunity for questions and comments about provisions of the new code.

Area meetings will be held•

• Wednesday, April 15 at 2 p.m.; Colby Fire Station, 1125 S. Country Club Dr., Colby

• Thursday, April 16 at 10 a.m.; Ellis County Emergency Services Building, 1105 E. 22nd St, Hays
