KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Fort Hays State junior golfer Morgan Brasser has been named the 2022-23 MIAA Women's Golfer of the Year, announced Sunday by the league office. A unanimous first-team selection this season, the Andale, Kan. native earned All-MIAA status for the third year in a row after picking up honorable mention status each of the last two years.

Brasser recorded a stroke average of 75.77 over 22 regular season rounds, bettering her own school-record of 77.2 set last season. In nine rounds during the spring season, she recorded a stroke average of 73.89.

She won three events on the year, finishing inside the top five at five different events and inside the top 10 seven times. She tied the school record with a round of 69, doing so twice. She turned in seven rounds at-or-under par, including five sub-par rounds. Brasser finished the Newman Spring Invitational at 4-under, the lowest tournament score for an individual in team history.

Brasser and the rest of the FHSU women's golf team will tee it up at the MIAA Championships this week at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Joplin, Mo.
