GREAT BEND - The Hays High girls’ golf team wrapped up the Western Athletic Conference title Tuesday with their win at the Great Bend Invitational at Lake Barton Golf Course.
The Indians took the team title by 15 strokes over Garden City. Dodge City finished a distant third in the tournament that was shortened to nine holes due to weather.

The Indians placed five in the top-10 led by Evyn Cox who won the individual title by on shot with a 44. Lily Garrison shot a 45 and finished. Abbie Norris was fifth with a 45 and Ashlynn Banker sixth with a 47. Jaycee Oakley shot a 47 and finished seventh but her score did not count toward the Indians team total.
This was the final regular season tournament of the year and wrapped up another Western Athletic Conference title for Hays.
Abbie Norris, Jaycee Oakley, Evyn Cox and Ashlynn Banker were named to the All-WAC First Team. Lily Garrison and Avery Augustine are honorable mention. Norris is the WAC Golfer of the Year and Mark Watts the WAC Coach of the Year.
Hays High will travel to Wichita to golf in the regional tournament Monday at the Rolling Hills Country Club.
