The Ellis County Commission will have a special meeting Tuesday, Sept. 22, to consider adding land to Rural Water District No. 6 and receive an update on ACCESS Transportation.
Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on a request from Rural Water District No. 6 to add property to the district. Following public comment, commissioners are expected to approve or deny the request.
The special meeting was scheduled to meet state notification requirements because the county’s next regular commission meeting will not be until Oct. 6.
The Ellis County Clerk mailed notices to affected property owners, the rural water district’s board of directors and the chief engineer of the Kansas Division of Water Resources.
Nathan Leiker, Ellis County commissioner, will also update the commission on information gathered and progress made during the ACCESS Transportation Task Force meeting on Sept. 15.
