It is officially storm season! Kansas storms can get wild to say the least. Here are a few tips that can keep you and your loved ones safe and prepared for crazy Kansas weather!

· Make a plan: Know where you’ll shelter during severe weather

· Build an emergency kit: Include water, non-perishable food, flashlights, first-aid supplies, and phone chargers

· Stay informed: Have MULTIPLE ways of receiving emergency alerts from the National Weather Service

· Shelter immediately: Don’t wait to get yourself to a safe place

· Stay away from windows: Needless to say, flying debris is exceptionally dangerous

· Don’t try to outrun a tornado: If you’re in a vehicle, find a low spot to shelter in place

· Be cautious of hazards: Downed power lines, unstable structures, and debris can severely injure you
