Kenneth C. Dreher, 87, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at his home.
Kenneth was born September 17, 1934, in La Crosse, Kansas, the son of Frank and Regina (Zimmerman) Dreher. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas. A 1952 graduate of La Crosse Rural High School, La Crosse, Kansas, he was a mechanic for Staab & Bunker, La Crosse, Kansas, for 12 ½ years, and Dechant Motor Co., Inc., La Crosse, Kansas, for 30 years before his retirement.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas.
Kenneth enjoyed sports, especially fantasy baseball, and his beloved KU Jayhawk’s basketball.
On June 3, 1954, he married Viola M. Jacobs at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas. She preceded him in death July 29, 1991.
Survivors include: his daughter, Debra “Debbie” Herrman (Dave), Hays, Kansas; two grandchildren, Keith Herrman (Jaime), Omaha, Nebraska, and Jennifer Baruelo (Dominic), Staten Island, New York; four great grandchildren, Olivia Herrman, Omaha, Nebraska, Colin Herrman, Omaha, Nebraska, Brynlee Baruelo, Staten Island, New York, and Payton Baruelo, Staten Island, New York; and one brother, Elmer Dreher, Hays, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Donald Dreher; two brothers, Victor Dreher, and Larry Dreher; an infant sister, Firma Dreher; and one sister, Edna Kreutzer.
Church visitation will be Friday, February 4, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. to 10:50 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas.
Funeral service will be Friday, February 4, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas, with Father Stephen Dabanka officiating. Interment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas, or Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse, Kansas.
