⛳ Monarchs claim regional championship; headed back to state

CHENEY –The TMP-Marian girls' golf team is headed back to the state tournament after they claimed the team title at the 3-1A Cheney regional Tuesday at Cherry Oaks Golf Course.

The Monarchs placed three in the top 10 and all four team members inside the top 15.

TMP finished with a combined team score of 407 and finished 22 shots better than second-place Hesston. Larned was third with a score of 436.

It marks the third time in the last four years the Monarchs have qualified as a team for the state tournament.

Plainville finished eighth (562).

Freshman Brynn Schoepf fired a 96 and was second, two shots back of first place Erin Tims from Larned.

TMP’s Jenna Brull was two shots behind her teammate with a 98 and finished in third place.

Emma Wasinger was sixth with a 102, and Ava Schumacher finished in a tie for 13th with a 111.

Plainville’s Avery Grebiowec also shot a 111 and tied for 13th.
