Russell D. Phalen, 93, of Osborne, KS, died Saturday, January 2, at the Osborne County Memorial Hospital of Osborne, KS.

Russell was born in Rich Hill, MO on March 6, 1927. &nbsp;He was the son of the late Florence Ayers and Delbert Phalen.

He served in the U. S. Navy as a Seaman 1st Class in WW II. &nbsp;Russ was
 a mail route carrier for the U. S. Postal Service in Osborne, KS. &nbsp;He 
retired in 1992.

Russ is survived by a son, Ralph (Marilyn) Phalen, of Hoover, AL. &nbsp;He
 is also survived by 1 grandchild &amp; 5 great-grandchildren.

Russ was preceded in death by his wife, Irene in 2009 and a son Randall, in 1974.
