Mary Kathleen "Kathy" McCammond, 75, passed away on February 6, 2022, at the Downs Care and Rehabilitation Center in Downs, Kansas. She was born on June 12, 1946, in La Crosse, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Martina (Rohr) Munsch.
Kathy worked as a CNA at the Ness County Hospital and Long-Term Care for over 40 years retiring in 2012. She worked her whole life taking care of other people and spreading love and joy to those around her. She found joy in making others smile and laugh by dressing up as Elvis, Santa Claus, and singing to the patients she cared for. She truly loved everyone she met and never knew a stranger. She was member of Sacred Heart Church and volunteered within the community, American Legion Auxiliary, and Sacred Heart School.
Survivors include 2 sons, Eric (Jenny Fox) McCammond of Las Vegas, NV, Mark McCammond of Hutchinson; 3 daughters, Lisa Ward of Edmond, OK, Michelle Koehler of Concordia, KS, Jennifer (Joshua) Bowles of Downs, KS; 2 brothers, Stanley (Bernus) Munsch of Hays, Ken (Dolly) Munsch of Loveland, CO; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Terri Dann and Lisa Holmes.
Parish Vigil will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 6:30 P.M. Funeral service will be on Saturday, February 12, 2022, 10:30 A.M., at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City followed by burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Friday from noon until service time and at the church from 9:30 A.M. until service time.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Sacred Heart School.
