Kay Marie Rush passed away on August 20, 2022, at the KU Medical Center
in Kansas City at the age of 80. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin to
Frederick and Elaine (Selanski) Lehmann on February 16, 1942. Kay was
united in marriage to Max Leon Rush on March 5, 1960, in Madison,
Wisconsin. The couple was blessed with two children: James and Gail.
Kay spent most of her life as a homemaker, taking care of her
children and the home. She and her family moved several times, managing
apartment buildings with her husband from Kansas to Wisconsin, all the
way to Tennessee and returned to their roots in Kansas where they lived
out the rest of their days.
She thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with
her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her beloved dog,
Brodie (lovingly nicknamed “Boyfriend”). Kay was a member of the United
Methodist Church in Stockton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, James Rush of
Omak, VA, Gail (Bradford) Hill of Stockton, KS; brother, Mike (Jill)
Lehmann of Trego, WI; six grandchildren, Matt Rush, Nolan (Amanda) Hill,
Dawn Rush, Donna Rush, Brent (Jessica) Rush, Brenda (Rick) Merling,
Jason Wheeler, Rebecca Wheeler; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Kay joins in her heavenly home, her parents, Frederick and Elaine; husband Max Leon Rush; and brother, Frederick Lehmann.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 26,
2022, at the United Methodist Church in Stockton at 11 AM. Visitation
will be held on Thursday, at the funeral home from 2 PM until 6 PM.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church, Valley View
Apartments, or the Assembly of God Church, and may be sent in care of
Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 North First, Stockton, KS 67669.
