
Helen V. Johnson, age 100, of Denver, passed away on December 13, 2020
at the Denver Hospice Care Center. She was born on October 12, 1920 in
rural Atwood, Rawlins County, Kansas to William and Viola (Grout)
Pancake. Helen married Kermit Johnson on May 29, 1943 in Colby. She
was an elementary school teacher and a homemaker.
After her
marriage, Helen spent 53 years as a housewife and community member of
Gove County. After Kermit's death in May, 1996, Helen moved from one of
her children to the next. In 2004, she arrived in Denver to be near
her daughter, Rose. She married Jack Kent in 2005.
Helen is
survived by her sons: Bill (Darlene) Johnson of Berthoud, CO, Don
(Donna) Johnson of Lawrence, Andy (Debi) Johnson of Grand Junction, Co,
Steve (Jil) Johnson of Great Bend, and Walter (Georgia) Johnson of
Healy, as well as her daughter, Rose Castle of Denver, CO, a brother,
Warren Pancake of Dayville, OR, 14 grandchildren, 24 great
grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded
in death by husbands: Kermit Johnson and Jack Kent, grandsons: Clint
Johnson and Christopher Johnson, and siblings: Joseph Pancake Jr., Vera
Knudson, Marjorie Ramge, Nina Jensen, Alfred Pancake, and Delmar
Pancake.
Graveside service for family and friends will be on
Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at the Gove Cemetery, with Pastor
Bud Tuxhorn officiating. The Service will be open to the public.

The family is planning a celebration of Helen's life at a later date.
