⛳ HHS places three in top-10, finishes second in Garden City

GARDEN CITY – The Hays High boys golf team placed three in the top-10 and finished in second place at Thursday’s Garden City Invitational at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course. The 18-hole event was moved up to a 9 a.m. start due to the threat of rain. The Indians shot a 335 and finished 15 strokes behind first place Dodge City and 15 ahead of third place Valley Center.

Caleb Thompson fired a 7-over-par 79 and finished in fifth place. Braxton Banker placed seventh with an 82 and Cooper Johnson ninth with an 85.

Dodge City’s AJ Peters was the individual champ with a 75, edging teammate Aiden Robinson by two strokes.

The Indians are at the Hutchinson Invitational Friday at Carey Park.
