⛳ HHS' Buckles, Clark close out state tourney

McPHERSON - Hays High’s Blake Buckles shot a career-low 72 in the opening round of the 5A state golf tournament at the Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson Monday. He followed that up with an 85 on Tuesday and tied for 42nd place with a 157.

Fellow senior Landen Clark backed up his career-low of 79 on Monday with his second lowest career round of 82 and tied for 69th place with a 161.

Bishop Carroll senior Noah Holtzman shot a 61 Tuesday and won and finished 13-under and won the 5A title by seven shots. The 61 is the lowest round ever recorded for any class at a state tournament.

Bishop Carroll won the team title by 10 shots over rival Kapaun Mt. Carmel. Goddard-Eisenhower finished third, 15 shots back of the Golden Eagles.
