HOISINGTON - The TMP-Marian Monarchs 18U baseball team had a couple of
good games Thursday night in Hoisington. They took advantage of a key error and scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning and won the opener 3-0.
Mark Rack went the distance on the mound allowing five hits with four strikeouts and four walks.
Hoisington scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh and won the second game 3-2.
After both teams scored a run in the first, the game remain tied until the seventh when TMP took a 2-1 lead on Rack's two out single.
Hoisington took advantage of a couple of errors in the bottom of the inning and scored their two runs with two outs including a steal at home for the game winner.
Mason Robbins went the distance but suffered the loss. He allowed one unearned run on six hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.
The Monarchs (14-9) have played four times this summer and three of the games have been decided by one run.
TMP-Marian is off until Tuesday when they host Hill City in a doubleheader at 6 p.m. at the TMP Field.
