The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a guardrail replacement project on a portion of I-70 in Trego County the week of Aug. 17.

Work will take place in various locations in both the eastbound and westbound lanes on 14 miles of interstate from the Gove County line to exit 127 at WaKeeney. Traffic will be restricted to one lane with reduced speeds through the work zones.

KDOT anticipates work to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting.

J&J Contractors of Iola is the primary contractor for the $321,000 project. For more information, please contact KDOT area construction engineer Nick Rogers at 785-625-9718 or [email protected].
