Fostine Kay Gardner

Fostine Kay Gardner was born on December 21, 1938, in Centralia, Illinois, to Carl Gene Britt and Iris Helen (Whitten) Britt. Fostine passed away on December 20, 2022, at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg, Kansas, at the age of 83.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Iris Britt, her husband Paul Gardner, and her two sons-in-law, Leroy Cardenas and Jim Shields.

She worked several different jobs over the years. In the early 90’s she went to work at Robinson Implement, which later became Landmark Implement, for over 30 years before retiring at the age of 75.

Fostine was an original member of the “Haggled Hags” and enjoyed spending time with all of the other “Hags," whether they were camping, playing cards, or just having dinner together. She also enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as enjoyed attending their many sporting events and school activities.

Fostine is survived by her three children, Loujena Cardenas of Hawthorne, Nevada, Kimberly Shields of Phillipsburg, and Bradford Parker of Phillipsburg, as well as her brother Roderick Britt and wife Sandy of Wilsonville.

Friends may sign the book on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church.
