WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Fort Hays State (2-5-1, 0-2-1 MIAA) fell to No. 10 ranked Central Missouri (5-2-2, 2-0-1 MIAA) by a score of 4-0 on Friday. The Jennies scored three goals in the second half to secure the victory.
Central Missouri took an early lead in the fourth minute when Mikayla Ernst scored her 10th goal of the season. Tiger goalkeeper Hadley Ostrander recorded six saves in the first half to hold the Jennies to just one first-half tally. She added a seventh for the match in the second half.
The Jennies added their next three goals all within the first nine minutes of the second half. Patsy O'Brien, Izzy Joyce, and Coryn Jespersen all scored. The Jennies outshot the Tigers 22-5 in the match overall.
After Ostrander tallied her seven saves, Jamie Kerkvliet saw action between the pipes in relief and recorded three saves in just over 24 minutes of action. Sydney Cotter took all but one of the five FHSU shots in the match.
Next up for Fort Hays State is a 1 p.m. match at Emporia State on Sunday (Oct. 5).
