Jennifer Kay Maneth

Jennifer Kay Maneth, age 62, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, left her family to gain her eternal wings on Tuesday, October 13th, 2020, at Diversicare of Council Grove.

Jennifer was born May 4, 1958 to William (Bill) & Kay (Dorfshaffer) Maneth. She was a long time resident of Great Bend, Kansas and graduated from Great Bend High School in 1976. Jennifer worked at Marmie Motors in Great Bend as a bookkeeper. In August of 1981, she had her only child, Samantha (Maneth) Asebedo. On and off over the years she took college classes at Barton County Community College. She enjoyed the art classes, falling in love with oil painting and ceramics. In 1999 she moved to Denver, Colorado, working at several different places. She moved back to Kansas in 2007, to Council Grove, for the birth of her first grandchild. Of all of the things she loved most; it was her family and animals.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, William F. Maneth; a granddaughter, Odella Asebedo; and both sets of grandparents. She is survived by her mother, Kay E. (Dorshaffer) Maneth of Great Bend; a daughter, Samanatha J. (Matthew) Asebedo of Wilsey; grandchildren, Isabella & Noah Asebedo of Wilsey; and her 2 brothers, John (Sandra) Maneth of Great Bend, and David (Angela) Maneth of Wichita.

Cremation has taken place, family visitation will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. The family requests that those in attendance wear bright colors. There will be a private family burial. The family suggests memorials be made to the Golden Belt Humane Society, as Jennifer loved animals, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, Ks 67530.
