Hays received one inch of snow on Sunday, according to the K-State Ag Research Center.
Hays had wind gusts of up to 45 mph early Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Although Hays saw seasonably warm temperatures during the holiday, it did not reach a record high last week.
Hays has received .2 inches of precipitation for December compared to an annual average of .71 inches by the end of the month.
Hays has received 26.48 inches of precipitation year-to-date, compared to an average annual precipitation rate of 22.96 inches.
The high for today is forecast at 36 degrees, with sunny skies and the wind dying down in the afternoon.
Highs are forecast to be in the 50s on Tuesday and Wednesday, with a high of 46 degrees forecast for New Year's Day.
The forecast calls for sunny skies Tuesday and Wednesday and no precipitation through Friday.
