Connie Darlene Weaver, was born on August 29, 1936, to Harry and Viola (Hoar) Baker in Stockton, Kansas. She passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs.
In 1954, Connie graduated from Logan High School in Logan, Kansas. In 1955, she attended Parks Business School in Denver, Colorado and was baptized in the Park Hill Baptist Church. While attending church, Connie met the love of her life, Fred Joseph Weaver. At the time, he was in the United States Air Force. They were married from August 22, 1956 until his passing in 1988. To this union, two children were born: Terry Eugene in 1958 and Linda Ann in 1962.
Connie worked for Aurora Public Schools in Aurora, Colorado from 1969 to 1977. In 1978, the family moved to Calhan, Colorado where Connie became employed by Falcon School District #49 until her retirement in 1999. She continued to reside in Calhan until her passing.
Connie and Fred enjoyed life and all the people they met along the way. They spent many years mentoring young people through 4H (horses, pigs and dogs), horse racing (Mr. Astonisher), and traveling (the Kentucky Derby was a special trip). In recent years, Connie found joy in Red Hats, Silver Sneakers, senior luncheons, family gatherings and her companion poodle, Tony. She also took great comfort in the lord and the words of the Bible.
On a pad by her phone, Connie had written, “just another journey” and “God Bless” - few words with great meaning.
Connie is survived by brother, Darrell Baker of Logan, Kansas; son, Terry (Mimi) Weaver of Haxtun, Colorado; daughter, Linda (Darren) Webb of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandaughter, Lynette Salway of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Colleen Weaver of Haxtun, Colorado; grandson, Jake (Krista) Webb of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and great grandchildren, Hale Salway, Chayton Salway, Creed Salway, Logan Webb, Adelynn Webb, all of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
