KDHE: 111 new COVID cases in Ellis Co. since Wednesday

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Friday reported 111 new COVID-19 cases in Ellis County had been identified since Wednesday.

There have been 1,545 new coronavirus cases reported in Ellis County in January. 

As of Friday morning, there were 30 COVID-19 inpatients at HaysMed, including 14 active cases and 16 recovering cases.

The KDHE reported on Wednesday that 51 percent of eligible Ellis County residents (age 5 and older) are fully vaccinated, noting the vaccination rate for the eligible Kansas population (5 and older) is approximately 63 percent.

Since reporting began, there have been 6,719 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 79 coronavirus-related deaths.
