HAYS, Kan. - The Fort Hays State women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw with Northeastern State on Friday night at the FHSU Soccer Stadium. Defense was key for both squads as only 11 total shots were allowed in the match. FHSU moved to 8-0-5 overall, 3-0-3 in the MIAA, and NSU is now 4-2-7 overall, 1-2-3 MIAA.

The cold, damp weather appeared to play a factor in the match as neither team was able to put together crisp scoring opportunities. The RiverHawks finished with six total shots and put four on target, while the Tigers managed five shots and put one on target. FHSU keeper Isabel Robben secured four saves, while Ainsley Cunningham saved the lone shot on target from FHSU. The Tigers collected three corner kicks compared to two by the RiverHawks.

With the scoreless result, Fort Hays State produced its ninth shutout of the season. The Tigers will be back in action on Sunday (Oct. 9) when they host Rogers State at 2 p.m.
