LAWRENCE โ The Hays High boys and girls cross team competed at the Rim Rock Farm High School Classic at Rim Rock Farm outside of Lawrence Saturday.
The Indian girls finished ninth out of 34 teams in the Crimson Varsity race with 296 points. Chris Preparatory won the race with 50 points.
Senior Arely Maldonado finished in 10th place out of 241 runners with a time of 20:01.5. Fellow HHS senior Brynn Kinderknecht placed 54th (21:45.4), senior Brenlynn Albers finished 69th (22:11.0), senior Mike Zimmerman placed 97th (22:54.4), Julia Zadina 124th (23:25.5), sophomore Cara Cunningham 152nd (24:10.0).
Topeka-Seamanโs Ryin Miller won the girls race with a time of 18:55.0.
The HHS boys finished 23rd out of 41 teams. Buhler won the Crimson boys race, Dodge City finished fourth and Liberal sixth.
Elijah McCullough led the Indians with a 26th place finish out of 292 runners. The senior had a time of 17:19.02, junior Taevian Maupin placed 64th (17:56.8), freshman Logan Leiker was 160th (19:07.0), freshman Brayden Stahley finished 185th (19:40.6), sophomore Malachi Chance 209th (20:02.3), senior Ty Dempsey 259th (21:07.2).
