A 29-year-old Hays man was arrested for allegedly burglarizing multiple vehicles.
Lt. Brandon Hauptman of the Hays Police said several witnesses reported seeing Jonathan Isaish Steinike allegedly breaking into three vehicles at 8:20 p.m. on March 4 in the 300 block of East 19th Street.
Hauptman said witnesses provided descriptions and security footage of the alleged incident, resulting in officers locating and arresting him about two blocks away shortly afterward.
Steinike was arrested on alleged charges of burglary, possession of marijuana with two prior convictions and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation remains ongoing, and Hauptman said police have not yet confirmed whether any items were stolen.
