2 hospitalized after violent western Kansas crash

SCOTT COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just before 6:30p.m. Wednesday in Scott County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Chevy Tahoe driven by Cheyenne Rushel McGahan, 27, Scott City  was northbound on South Juniper Road 1.7 miles west of U.S. 83.

The driver failed to stop at sign at West County Road 70 and collided with an eastbound 2013 GMC Sierra 2500 driven by Bryan Plotz, 28, Scott City.

The Tahoe rolled over unknown amount of times and landed on its passenger side. The GMC rolled an unknown number of times and landed on its top. Both vehicles came to rest in a field north of West County Road 70.

EMS transported McGahan and Plotz to the hospital in Scott City. The drivers were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
