Bonnie Lee Loughrige

Bonnie Lee Loughrige, 91, passed away May 3, 2021 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned.

She was born July 15, 1929 in Dodge City, the daughter of Myrl Lador and Gladys Pearl Ackley James.

Moving from McPherson, she was a Larned resident for 64 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Larned, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of Christian Women’s Fellowship, and helped with the CWF Thrift Shop, member of Larned Country Club and Pitch Club. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, volunteering at the blood mobile, boating, fishing, and water skiing. She really enjoyed sports, especially watching her daughter and grandchildren play throughout the years, along with watching KU and KSU basketball, the Chiefs, and the Royals.

On October 15, 1949 she married Floyd Glen Loughrige at Larned; he preceded her in death on February 27, 2017.

Survivors include: a son, Mark James Loughrige, Pratt; a daughter, Kathy Jo (Paul) Heidrick, Manhattan; three grandchildren, Alan (Lisa) Heidrick, Julie (Jeff) Moore, Lori (Brad) Scheuerman, all of Manhattan; and five great grandchildren, Allison Heidrick, McKenzie Heidrick, Maren Moore, Bennett Scheuerman, and Wyatt Scheuerman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Myrlen Ray James.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 at Larned Cemetery, Larned with Pastor Aaron Withrow presiding. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
