Ellis County Commission set to consider benefit study

After accepting the results of a recent benefit study last month, the Ellis County Commission will consider several new job descriptions and a new pay scale at this week’s regularly scheduled meeting.

The commission hired the Arnold Group from Wichita to work through the study with staff and the county’s executive team and Benefits Committee.

According to Ellis County Administrator Darin Myers, each department will have to increase its budget authority increased but the overall county budget will not increase.

A total of $950,000 has been set aside for the 2024 changes.

In other business, the commission will begin setting the 2025 budget calendar, review results of the recent Purple Wave auction, and hear updates from the Human Society, Western Kansas Child Advocacy Center, St. John’s Project in Victoria and activities from emergency preparedness.

The Ellis County Commission meetings at 8:30 a.m. on the first three Tuesdays of the month at the County Administrative Center, 718 Main St., Hays.
