HAYS - The Hays High softball team completed the season sweep of Great Bend. After an 8-1 win in Great Bend Tuesday, the Indians won 11-1 and 5-0 Thursday at the Bickle-Schmidt Sports Complex.
HHS extend their winning streak to four games and is now 8-3 overall and 8-1 in the Western Athletic Conference. They host TMP-Marian on Thursday, April 27.
Game 1: Hays 11, Great Bend 1 (5 innings)
The Indians scored nine runs in the bottom of the second inning to take control. Their first 10 batters all reached safely.
Riley Dreher allowed one unearned run on four hits and picked up the complete game victory.
Morgen Berry went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs. Aubree Thomas also had two hits including a triple and drove in three.
Game 2: Hays 5, Great Bend 0
Hays scored four runs in the fifth to break open a one-run game. Elle Dreiling, Morgen Berry, Avery Solida all drive in runs in the frame.
Riley Dreher has two of the Indians six hits and drives in a run. Solida finished with two RBIs.
Aubree Thomas scattered seven hits with seven strikeouts and three walks for the complete game win.
