Clifton Duane 'Butch' Waterhouse

Clifton  Duane “Butch”  Waterhouse, 62, passed away December 8, 2021,  at Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care in Quinter, Kansas.

He was born March 22, 1959, in Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Bobby “Dean” and Betty Louise Tittel Waterhouse.  He was a lifetime area resident of Hodgeman County and attended school and graduated Hanston High School in 1977.  He lived his life on the farm where he was raised and farmed and did water well work with his father.  In his younger years, he developed a love of assembling fine scale models.  He was a diehard fan of anything Star Trek and Star Wars.  He had a vast knowledge and interest of air craft from the 2 World Wars and Vietnam.  He was an avid reader and had a large collection of books. His immediate family and close friends were near and dear to him.  Giving someone a hard time, in his onry joking way, was the high light of his day.

He was a lifetime member of the NRA.  In 1981 he obtained a Federal Firearms License and established Waterhouse Gun Shop.  He was baptized as an infant at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ness City.  On September 26, 2021, Butch rededicated his life to Christ thru baptism at the Christian Church in Ogallah, Kansas.

Survivors include: two sisters, Linda and Dale Hoagland, Fort Morgan, Colorado, Sara Hoagland and Aaron and Sunny Hoagland and Gloria and Dan Gobin, Hill City, Kansas; Nieces, Tina (Cory) Riggs, Trey, Derrik and Kyler, Lisa Gobin, Mason and Jay Kobler, Traci (Butch) Hamel, Kendrix and Ryker, Taylor Gobin and friend, Branden Paden, He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Robert and Grace (Jones) Waterhouse and John and Agnes (Friebus) Tittel.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at Brown’s Grove Cemetery, Burdett, Kansas.
