SALINA - Hays High placed three golfers in the top-10 and won the Salina South Invitational by seven shots over McPherson on a chilly Tuesday at the Salina Municipal Golf Course. Caleb Thompson, Miles Weimer and Trey Oakley all medaled helping the Indians to a team score of 319.
Thompson shot a 6-over-par 76 which tied Salina South’s Ledger Michael for the second lowest round of the day. Thompson placed third in a tiebreaker. Weimer and Oakley had rounds of 78 and were part of a six-way tie for fourth. Wiemer placed eighth and Oakley ninth by tiebreaker.
Topeka West's Blaze Schultz was the top medalist with a 2-over-par 72.
