Sue Jacobs, 69, died December 23, 2021, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas. She was born June 5, 1952, in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Bernard and Marjorie (Stukey) Beck. Sue graduated in 1970 from Hoisington High School and attended Barton County Community College.
On April 21, 1972, she married Edgar L. Jacobs at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington.
Sue was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was active in her community, and would substitute teach and fill in as the music director at the Claflin and Centeral Plains Schools when needed. She was the co-owner and bookkeeper for the Odin Store working alongside her husband Edgar.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 50 years, Edgar Jacobs; two children, Monte Jacobs and wife Crystal, and Renee Zink and husband Neil, all of Odin; a sister, Jane Norris of Atlanta, Georgia; and her four beloved grandchildren, Carson Jacobs, Bella, Lily, and Jacob Zink.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Vigil and Rosary will begin at 7 p.m., all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin, celebrated by Father Terrance Klein. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
