Dale G. Pelton

Dale G. Pelton, 63, died Monday, August 8, 2022, at his home in Wilroads Gardens.

He was born December 3, 1958, at Oceanside, California, the son of Ted and Josephine (Dailey) Pelton.  He was a graduate of Hanston High School and a Dodge City resident since 2007.  He worked in maintenance at Park Plaza Towers, Dodge City and currently at Dodge City Community College.

He attended Abundant Life Family Church in Dodge City and enjoyed fishing, grilling outside, chopping firewood, gardening, and spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids and his dogs. He loved reading the word of God and listening to messages on TV by Kenneth Copeland ministries. He was a devoted Christian and shared the love of Christ everywhere he went. 

On February 14, 1996, he married Lynn Cryer at Garden City.  She survives.

Other survivors include: 7 children, Kyle Pelton and wife Melissa, Littleton, Colorado, Krystal Crist and husband Dan, Deerfield, Kansas, Andy Thayer and wife Brittney, Hays, Kansas, Gilbert Thayer and wife Heather, Springhill, Kansas, Jeff Thayer, Grand Junction, Colorado, Mark Groneman and Mary Dawn, Amarillo, Texas and Millie Spicer and husband Rick, Samburg, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren, Madisyn Groneman, Mason Groneman, Lane Archie, Elizabeth Archie, Taylor Jackson and husband Justin, Jocelyn Thayer, Myles Thayer, Bowen Thayer, Easton Thayer, Scottie Thayer, Levy Crist, Gabriel Crist, Erica Crist, Bailey Crist, Damian Pelton and Devin Pelton; 1 great granddaughter, Brinley Jackson; a brother, Dan Pelton, Lansing, North Carolina; and a sister, Joyce Johnson, Santa Cruz, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Bill Mahr and Ted “Butch” Pelton and a sister, Marjorie Mahr.

Memorial service will be at 10:30 am Monday, August 15, 2022, at Abundant Life Family Church, Dodge City with Pastors Jim and Lydia Ames officiating.  There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.  Friends may sign the register Friday, August 12, 2022, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
