HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State Women's Soccer head coach Tyson John announced his resignation from his position on Tuesday to accept the same position at St. Leo University (Fla.). John just completed his fourth season guiding Fort Hays State in 2025. He had a record of 34-27-17 in his time leading the Tigers.
John led the Tigers to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, matching the most for coaches in the program's history. His 2023 team won 13 matches, matching the second most for a season in program history, and his 2022 team had just three losses, the fewest for a season in program history. He coached 26 all-conference selections and five all-region selections in his time leading the Tigers.
"We are very grateful for Tyson's dedication and commitment to Tiger Athletics over the past four seasons," said Director of Athletics Dr. Lisa Goddard McGuirk. "We wish Tyson the best in the future as he embarks on the next chapter of his coaching career."
John completed his 17th season as a collegiate head coach overall in 2025. He holds a career record of 155-115-33.
A search for the next head women's soccer coach will begin immediately.
