🤼‍♂️Hoxie boys claim MCL tournament title

ELLIS – The Hoxie Indians collected 10 individual top four finishes on their way to the Mid-Continent League Tournament title Friday at Ellis.

Among the 10 top medal winners were three first place and three second place finishers.

Ian Giancola (120), Carson Ochs (132) and Sam Watkins (190) all placed first. Etson Moreno (138), Duncan Bell (157) and Easton Nickelson (165) each finished second.

Hoxie collected 197 team points, Phillipsburg was second (147), followed by Hill City (131.5), Norton (129) and Smith Center (103.5) to round out the top five.

Trego had four medal winners.

Tate Blackwill earned an individual championship at 106 pounds. At 120 pounds Ashton Wynn finished second and Kaden Bliss (190) and Traxton Maley (215) both finished fourth.

Plainville had three individual medal winners.

Jesse Wilkerson placed third at 175 pounds while Colby Nuss (113) and Mason Hogan (285) finished fourth.

Ellis’ lone medal winner was Mason Younger who brought home the championship at 144 pounds.

TMP’s Eli Stein finished fourth at 165 pounds.
