WAKEENEY – Western Cooperative Electric is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 Youth Scholarship Program. These scholarships reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting the educational goals of member students as they take their next steps toward a brighter future.
This year, four outstanding high school seniors have each been awarded a $1,000 scholarship to support their first year of college. These member students demonstrated strong academic achievement, leadership, and a passion for serving their communities.
The recipients are
• Bryan Garvert– Plainville High School
• Tori Miller – Hays High School
• Jessa Schultz – Ellsworth High School
• Marisa Wasinger– Hays High School
In addition, Western is honored to award the Darrell Brown Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $250 to
• Briana Croisant – Otis-Bison High School
This special scholarship was created in memory of Darrell Brown, a valued member of the Western Cooperative Electric family whose legacy of service and dedication continues to inspire others. The award recognizes a student who embodies the spirit of perseverance, kindness, and community involvement.
“We’re incredibly proud of these students and their accomplishments,” said Christina Hayes, member services manager at Western Cooperative Electric. “It’s a privilege to play a small part in helping them pursue their dreams and continue their education.”
