Free school supplies for families in need are available today until 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 2900 Hall, Hays, through First Call for Help's Backpacks for Kids program.

Please go to the southeast door.

Ellis County families can pick up backpacks filled with free school supplies and hygiene kits. The school supplies are appropriate to the children's grades in school.

About 700 backpacks were packed for the annual project. More than 400 children were pre-registered.

The community donates the supplies and new backpacks.
