Two hospitalized after NW Kansas semi accident

THOMAS COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 6:30a.m. Sunday in Thomas County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2022 Frieghtliner semi driven by Ernst  Lacoste, 51, Delray Beach, Florida, was westbound on Interstate 70 four miles west of the U.S. 83 exit.

The semi left the roadway onto the inside shoulder and the driver attempted to return the vehicle to the roadway. The semi's trailer began to tip to the left side and laid onto its side as the vehicle came back onto the roadway.

 EMS transported Lacoste and a co-driver in the sleeper compartment Marc Marcellus, 49, Stamford, Connecticut, to the Thomas County Hospital.
