Fort Hays State University is welcoming a new alumni director who says she is passionate about strengthening connections.
Kim Cebula, a two-time Fort Hays State University graduate, returned to campus in 2019 to work in Residential Life before stepping into her role as alumni director.
"It's an honor to step into this role, and I'm really excited to connect with the vibrant alumni community that really makes Fort Hays State so special," she said.
Cebula arrived in Hays from eastern Kansas and quickly embraced it as her home. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 2003 and a master's in public administration in 2022.
Cebula started her new position last week and said her department is gearing up for the spring semester and the return of students.
"Over at the alumni office, we're already running strong. We've got a lot of events and activities coming up this spring," she said.
Upcoming events Cebula listed include:
Thursday, Jan. 30 – FHSU at Washburn basketball
Saturday, Feb. 15 – FHSU at Newman basketball
5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25 – Boulevard Brewing event
Wednesday, March 5 through Sunday, March 9 – MIAA basketball events
Saturday, April 26 – MIAA Day at the K (time TBA) Royals vs. Houston Astros
Friday, May 30 – Kansas City Golf Tournament at Dub’s Dread
Cebula encouraged alums who have not returned to FHSU to contact her to revisit cherished memories and discover new campus developments.
"If you haven't been on campus lately, please reach out. I'd love to coordinate a tour. There's been so many changes in the last five to 10 years that we'd love to share," she said.
You can visit the FHSU alumni website and follow them on Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin to stay up to date on upcoming events.
